The Hot Pink Of Blues – FF6 (Live @ M7; 1 of 3)

MAAAAGFEEEEST!!! So I went to MAGfest 7, and it turns out an Open Mic session was hosted in the Jamspace. I signed up for it, took 3 of my songs, removed the Bass and jammed over them.

This song is my track “The Hot Pink Of Blues,” originally made for the DoD June 2008 “Boss vs. Hero” month. In this version, Shnabubula plays the keyboards, instead of the quantized bullshit I put in the song.

Sorry all, but I BLOW that intro.

The audio is a combination of the audio from the video camera, audio recorded by Escariot from direct-in of my Bass and an area mic, and the original track laid over for better quality.

(Real music starts at about 1:33)

This video is of me playing my most well known video game remix: “The Hot Pink Of Blues” on both Bass and Guitar. This tune is a smooth, jazzy remake of “Cyan’s Theme” from Final Fantasy VI.

This is the original tune:

I use some really crappy visual transitions since the guitar doesn’t play all the time and most of you wouldn’t enjoy me doing nothing while I wait for the next guitar solo.

In this video, most of the parts I do will be different from the studio version since a lot of it was improvised.

Also, I tuned my instruments down a whole step for this song.

I first made this song public in the June 2008 Dwelling of Duels competition, the theme was “Boss vs. Hero”.
