Rush – YYZ (Bass Cover)

‘Bout time, eh? I’ve been getting an excruciating number of requests for this song, and not to mention, the last Bass cover I posted was in June. ‘Twas an opportune time to get this done.

Bass: Ibanez S300DX

Damnation of Surf (Surf Metal Medley)

It’s mah birthday! And I’ve decided to release a video of a ridiculously metal surf medley I put together recently as a “thank you” to all the support on Youtube!

Studio Version:

The guitar is a strat I’ve borrowed from a friend of mine.

Dream Theater – The Dark Eternal Night (Bass Cover)

Dream Theater song #3! Paired with my Sea of Lies cover, this will probably be the last of the prog metal covers for a while. There’s a lot more non-metal stuff that I’d love to take care of.

Not only did I want to do this song anyway, but I’ve been getting a few requests for the song anyway, so I went ahead and did it!

Bass: Yamaha RBX775

Mike Lepond says:

“flawless job !!
I’m very proud of you…….

Mike L.”

Alright, so much like The Dark Eternal Night, which I uploaded on the same day, I’ve intended on doing this song for a long time, plus I had been getting a bunch of requests for it. Well here it is finally, hope you all enjoy.

Bass: Yamaha RBX775

Primus – Wynona’s Big Brown Beaver (Bass Cover)

YouTube Preview Image

First Primus cover. Woohoo. I know many of you will potentially ask me to cover Jerry Was a Race Car Driver and/or Tommy the Cat, and I’m unsure whether I will because I don’t have a fretless 6-string, and doing it on a fretted bass makes it sound pretty stupid.

Bass: Ibanez S300DX

Megadeth Megamedley (The Best Basslines)

YouTube Preview Image

Well, let’s be honest, Megadeth doesn’t always have spectacularly difficult basslines, and most of the time the difficult ones are just doubling the guitars, which I don’t necessarily want to do for a whole video in my channel.

So I’ve taken some of my favorite moments from the Megadeth catalogue and compiled them all into one video!

I recorded Dawn Patrol but when I went to edit this video together, I realized I lost the audio. Sorry guys :(

This is the last of the 4 Youtube videos I recorded in a day since I haven’t given you any videos with actual playing in a couple months!

Bass is the Yamaha RBX775

Jigawattica – Closer (Bass Cover)

YouTube Preview Image

I doubt any of you have heard of Jigawattica unless you lived in New York. Jigawattica was a band that my bass teacher from 6 years ago, Jed Ostrom, had when he lived in New York.

It was short lived, but nevertheless, a really good band. Jed help me get on track with my bass playing, so this is my tribute to him.

UPDATE: After talking to Jed, he let me upload the Jigawattica album. Here’s the link to download it.

This is the second video in a group of 4 videos that I recorded for youtube, since I haven’t given you guys anything with actual playing since February!

Red Hot Chili Peppers – Subway To Venus (Bass Cover)

The second Red Hot Chili Peppers video! When I made Around the World, I was actually planning on doing this, but decided to go the other way. Not to mention that this is my favorite RHCP song.

This is one of the 4 Youtube videos I recorded in a day since I haven’t given you any videos with actually play in a couple months!

Bass: Ibanez S300DX

Dream Theater – Panic Attack (Bass Cover)

YouTube Preview Image

I’ll be frank [Alright, can I still be Garth?]. This song sucks. It’s a good song, but hot damn, my fingers were like pudding by the time I finished the song.

And normally I wouldn’t excuse myself for all the mistakes, but I was even happy to make it to the end with out totally dropping the ball.

I did my best :D

And like I said, I was just happy to play that last note.

Apologies for going off screen a little bit.

Bass: Ibanez SR506

Symphony X – Of Sins and Shadows (Bass Cover)

Symphony X song number 2!

Mike Lepond says:
“You play Sins and Shadows amazing !!!

keep it up man,
mike”

I had another SymX tune in mind for recording but that will come later. This is one of their best and most popular songs so I thought I’d give it a go. And there’s also nothing really too difficult about this song as it’s mostly riffy.
